Grant distribution summary
In 2008 the Trust awarded $14,681,009 to 220 organizations in Arizona and Indiana with about 15 percent
being first-time grantees. Approximately 75 percent of the grant dollars went to help people in need. More
than 60 percent funded programs as compared to almost 30 percent for capital projects and the remainder
for operating support. In 2009 there is a significant shift underway with the decision to focus on providing
operating support to seasoned nonprofits that excel at helping people in need, the Trust’s highest priority
of funding interest since it began making grants in 1998. The following chart illustrates the dollar distribution of our 2008 grant awards across the Trust's three funding categories.
